My friend, Alex Rebolledo turned 45 this week. I am happy to know him and to have the opportunity to call him my friend and I really wanted to offer him something unique and personal for this very special occasion: a portrait of himself. I wish it would've been a surprise, but I really needed him to pose for me so I have the right visual references and to build the image with the concept I had in mind, therefore I asked him to participate in a photo shooting realised with my friend Sergiu Leustean.
I know Alex for two and a half years now and the image I have in my head when I think about him is of a very warm and friendly guy, open and easy going and with a big appetite for life. This way of being and his personality shines through him and is reflected in his external appearance. In my view, he doesn't show that he's been around for 45 years, and time kinda stopped for him way before. With the portrait I drew of and for him, my intention of catching this moment and stopping time has materialized. My gift for him, in an ideal world, would be to stop the time so the world could enjoy his presence and his spirit for eternity. Well, I know, there is no such a thing as ideal world, so I just recreated his image in this specific moment in time where he will live and be Forever 45.
