Hello my dears,
Long time passed and a lot of things happened in the mean time...such as: a trip home for vacation where I ate a lot of goodies (tomatoes, salata de vinete, sarmale, saramura of fish, and many other things ...), where I also enjoyed my family, the beach and the good weather; I moved in a new place in Copenhagen; I made some new art and did some design for some exciting projects (I will talk about this later), I spent each day cooking delicious foods and, the most important of all, I joined the Red Door Studio!
After a few trial and error sessions of finding a place where I can work and create my works of art, I finally found not only a space where I can go crazy with my drawings, but also a community of artists and creative people that share the same ideas and concepts of what it means to be a free artist.
The Red Door name has some history as a virtual magazine, and it is known as Red Door NY. Since 2009, Red Door exists as a magazine created by artists for artists as an open space available to the international creative community to promote and exchange ideas, projects and collaborations. The purpose is to serve as an interactive network of support to one another and thread the waters thorough art in all forms. You can have a look at Red Door Magazine website at www.reddoormag.com
Having the fortune to meet the right people at the right time, I became part of The Red Door studio which is an Art Studio and event space in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, located at 9-11 Heinesgade. Apart from using the space to make our own creations, we organize exhibitions, art talks, film screenings, live performances and collaborations with other artistic communities. We are open to the public several times a week and we offer a variety of art, records, books and other art objects for sale. Red Door Studio had the opening on 29th of August.

Part of this space and community are other talented creative minds. The core of Red Door is the sweet and energetic Elizabeth Torres (COL), writer and mixed media artist, as well as the director of the Red Door magazine. Currently a member of The Electric Set and co-director on the Neverstop Project. You can find her on Facebook and Tumblr and read her story here. Together with Mie Behrmann (DK), (known as DJ MorUgle) they are running the Red Door Studio. Behind the stage is Brandon Davis (USA), guitarist, vocalist, member of The Electric Set, Indian Jewelry. Terrible Eagle among other projects/bands, world-threader and co-ordinator of the Neverstop Project, he is also helping Elizabeth and Mie with organizational stuff.

Another member of Red Door Studio is Marko Eskalante (MEX), visual artist and designer that shares his life and work between Copenhagen and México City. Going from architecture, his first love, through visual and multimedia design, he experiments also his artistic side by mixing different medias and platforms. Having a multidisciplinary approach, he is consistent throughout his creations by keeping a personal style, analysing and questioning the shape of things with the aim to get to the essential. You can see his work at www.eskalante.com.

Part of the Red Door studio, as artists are also Mette Højland Frisch (DK) and Søren Forsom (aka. Face it) (DK). They are a young couple that enjoy drawing illustrations and are passionate about fire! They are doing amazing jaw-dropping fire performances, and we can see some of their shows as part of the Pyromaniacs group and duo performances as well.

As you can see we are a diverse group, a mix of talents and interests and together we form the Red Door Studio. As mentioned before, the opening of the Studio took place on 29th of August, and this was a good occasion to show my latest drawings, part of the series "Faces.Characters".
